Energy Generation

The RODECS® machines transform all the carbonaceous substances in the waste into a synthetic gas, called “syngas”, which is used to fuel a steam turbine to generate Renewable Energy. With a carbon conversion efficiency rate of over 99%, the RODECS® technology has been dubbed the “most advanced gasification technology in use today.”

At Thames Gateway, the facility will process up to 180,000 tonnes of C&I and MSW waste and convert it into 100% Renewable Energy capable of energising over 35,000 homes. For this initial project, electricity generation will be the primary driver of the economic model for the projects.
